EventLedger: Programmable Access Infrastructure

Treating event tickets as evolving, programmable access rights with decentralized media storage and secondary resale rules.

Overview & Research Motivation

EventLedger treats a ticket not as a static, easily forged QR code, but as a dynamic, cryptographic access right that evolves across its lifecycle. The system models verifiable ticket issuance, controlled secondary resale price caps, anti-scalping policies, and programmable royalty distributions.

Built on Sui Move for object-centric access control and integrating the Walrus decentralized storage protocol with Seal encryption, EventLedger advanced to the Walrus Foundation RFP technical-review process for decentralized event infrastructure.

The Core Systems Problem

  • Traditional event ticketing suffers from counterfeit screenshots, predatory bot scalping, and complete lack of artist royalty enforcement on secondary resale markets.

My Specific Technical Contributions

  • Wrote Sui Move smart contracts utilizing object capabilities for dynamic ticket state transitions.
  • Integrated Walrus protocol decentralized storage and Seal encryption for gated event media and QR generation.
  • Authored the comprehensive technical architecture specification submitted to the Walrus Foundation RFP.

System Architecture & Verification Pipeline

Sui Move Object Model

Tickets modeled as dynamic on-chain objects with embedded transfer policies, expiry hooks, and price caps.

Walrus & Seal Encrypted Media

Decentralized storage of ticket metadata and dynamic rotating access tokens decrypted only upon gate check-in.

Programmable Secondary Market

Enforces non-bypassable organizer royalties and maximum resale markup ceilings directly at the protocol level.
