Overview & Research Motivation

Traditional scholarship programs and education endowments are burdened by high administrative overhead, opaque disbursement timelines, and restrictive geographic criteria. Medici explores a simpler funding primitive for education: verified students publish credentialed funding needs, global supporters choose whom to back, and funding moves directly through transparent, programmable settlement rails.

Awarded a $10K Solana Almighty Grant, the deployed platform provides a browsable student pool, profile and cohort filtering, structured funding workflows, and direct USDC settlement on Solana.

The Core Systems Problem

Merit-based educational funding is bottlenecked by institutional bureaucracy, banking fees, and lack of direct transparency for benefactors.

Why I Worked on It

"Having seen talented peers struggle with cross-border academic conference travel and textbook costs, I wanted to build an auditable, transparent funding primitive that removes middleman fees."

My Specific Technical Contributions

Architected the full web application, Solana smart contract escrow programs, and student verification workflow.
Engineered cryptographic milestone release mechanisms ensuring accountability for disbursed funds.
